Welcome to the CSG Website

The CSG is a not-for-profit organisation established to provide our members with a variety of opportunities for continuing education and support – whether experienced and established potters, beginners or students. Members will receive ten newsletters per year, each one providing valuable resources. Members are eligible to attend ten presentations per year, many of which include demonstrations by master potters. Our first meeting of each year, held in February, is a one-day intensive workshop. Throughout the year there may be other occasional workshops as well as tours to galleries and studios. The CSG has an excellent lending library with new publications continually added. The library stocks past and current journals as well as DVDs for loan to members. CSG members have the opportunity to participate in wood-firings in our own Bourry-box kiln situated in nearby Oxford Falls. This website and our Facebook presence allows our members to exhibit their work and promote ideas and discussion within our field - not only from potters, but also curators, collectors, educators and specialist writers. Our monthly meetings are held in the Balcombe Heights Estate and are open to guests as well as members. Check our blog for handy hints, add your own helpful hints and provide feedback for the committee.

At the CSG April 29th (Sunday) Alexander de Vos will give a talk on the history/origin of Medieval Pottery, gargoyles, jugs and other items that he specialises in. He will also demonstrate a couple of items he makes, and you will be able to have a go at making them yourself.
